It was a Tuesday, 15 July 2025, and PappaRich Sri Rampai became our little HQ for the evening. We picked it mostly out of convenience — it’s practically on the way to my weekly badminton session at Pro One — but also because it’s one of those places where you know what you’re getting: steady service, decent food, and a setting that’s easy to linger in. The three of us rolled in around 5 PM. The place was half full, just the way I like it — enough life to keep it from feeling empty, but not so crowded that you have to raise your voice. We chose a booth inside, with its long stretch of green leather seating and that cushy backrest that makes you sink in a little. The air-conditioning was cool but not icy, and the soft background chatter mixed with the occasional clink of cutlery from other tables. Menus came quickly, but honestly, I already had my eye on something. I went for the Kway Teow Beef with Ginger — and when it arrived, it was exactly the kind of comfort dish that works for both a casual dinner and a planning session. The silky egg gravy was smooth and steaming, draped over flat noodles, with tender slices of beef and bits of greens peeking through. The small dish of chopped chili in soy on the side added that extra kick if you wanted it. My iced chocolate showed up cold and creamy, beads of condensation running down the glass — sweet, but not in a way that clings to your throat. We weren’t just here for dinner; this was also a planning pitstop for our upcoming Japan road trip. Between bites, we had maps open on the laptop, itineraries pulled up on our phones, and a few good-natured debates over which scenic routes to take. Every so often, one of us would get distracted by the warm light spilling from the open kitchen area, where the staff moved quickly behind the counter. Time slipped by without us noticing. By the time we wrapped up, we had more clarity on our trip plans, satisfied stomachs, and still enough time for me to make it to badminton. All in all, it was the kind of low-key, productive meet-up that reminds you why familiar spots like this are worth coming back to — no fuss, just good food, comfortable surroundings, and the right company.

I love the ipoh kway teow soup with steamed chicken! Dont forget to ask for cili potong for extra kick. Another favorite is the thick toast susu. My sister and her family is a regular at this branch. Today she had her regular chicken rice with raised chicken + soup and the bro in law had curry me with no complains while the little nephew had his fries. So sad the kota damansara branch is closed :( P/s: im so sorry most of the food pictures showing nearly empty bowls. Im still a novice foodie wannabe and as usual i only remembered to take photos lateeeeee but it does shows that the food here is yummyyyy

First time here. The teh tarik is to my liking. Ate kueyteow beef. Sedap but to me the beef strips portion is too much for me. ALOT. But the beef is tender. And yeah it is a very hearty meal
